Jacksonville Sea and Sky Spectacular 2003
Rick Grissom and his Aerial Entertainment Resources Team (AER) have supported the Jacksonville Sea and Sky Spectacular with absolutely superb planning, training, logistic, budget, transportation, marketing, sound, and show site execution services since 1999. AER planning and industry experience saved me enough to cover 55% of the AER fee before we even departed the ICAS convention!

Rick, George, Judy, Charlie and the AER Team are the quiet professionals of air show production.

AER planning and operations are all about detail, performance, precision and execution. AER events happen on time, on budget, and always appear to the public as pure aviation entertainment.

400,000 rapt Jacksonville Sea and Sky Spectacular 2003 spectators will attest to that.

Nobody knows the aerial entertainment business like Rick Grissom and his staff.

Want the world's best aviators and aircraft?  Call AER.

Need an AIRBOSS? Call AER.

Want a quality Air Show Announcer? Call AER.

Working with a tight budget? Rick and his team can help.

You name it...premium performers, portable bleachers, awesome sound, local radio simulcast, television Jumbo Trons, Canopus smoke oil, or Blue Angel ball caps , the AER Team will bring it to you, on a platter, ahead of schedule, under budget.

Rick and his team will start working two years out and won't stop till the post-event press is in the can, the gate numbers have been tallied, "Happy Trails" is playing and the bleachers have been trucked away.

My 26 years of military aviation experience and seven air show productions lead me to the following analysis...

AER is 100% pure, concentrated, MILSPEC quality air show expertise - guaranteed to get some!

Skyfest 2000 – Bush Field  - Augusta, GA
All the rumors we heard about you were true! It is not an understatement to Say that Skyfest 2000 would not have happened without you. You did a Great job in spite of what could have been major obstacles, i.e., a very short time frame and staff who had never worked on an air show before your
willingness to go above and beyond the scope of your contract in contacting performers and coordinating all the many details of the show was certainly appreciated.Unquestionably we learned a lot but, that aside, thousands of men, women and children were able to see and experience aviation as they never have before. In the end, I believe Skyfest 2000 was teamwork at its best.

Jacksonville Sea and Sky Spectacular 2001:
There is significant pressure for first-time show organizers to execute a successful show.  For the Jacksonville Sea and Sky Spectacular (S&S) 2001 held at Jacksonville Beach in November 2001, the US Navy partnered with four city governments to host an over water show for the first time in over 15 years.  We aimed our sights high and sought to feature the Blue Angels and a US Marine Corps amphibious invasion of the beach along with a premier line up of civilian and military jet, propeller, helicopter aircraft, and parachute demonstration teams.   The coordinating team from the US Navy and the participating cities needed plenty of proven and reliable advice on conducting an entertaining yet safe beachfront show.  Convincing four city council chambers to back the show was the immediate challenge.

After research and a thorough screening process, we chose Rick Grissom to be our consultant.  Mr. Grissom's years of experience equips him with a broad base of expertise on all aspects of show organization.  His long association with ICAS earns him the trust and confidence of some of the world's finest flying acts.  The Sea and Sky Spectacular coordinating team worked closely with Mr. Grissom from beginning to end -- convincing the city councils, avoiding pitfalls,  and conserving precious sponsorship dollars throughout the planning process.

The end result was an astounding success.  Through great teamwork, executing the first-time show went superbly.  The top-quality civilian and military acts felt comfortable enough to deliver outstanding performances.  The Blues Angels shows and USMC invasions of the beach were both awe-inspiring and patriotic, a validation of our nation’s military treasures, people and machines, just 2 months after September 11, 2001.  Military recruiters at the show reported enthusiastic activity.

Mr. Grissom’s contributions were key to making the inaugural show a success.   The communities involved with Sea and Sky Spectacular 2001 and the 180,000 spectators who saw the show were pleased too.   The proof is that the 2003 show of the bi-annual Sea and Sky Spectacular kicks off this week, and crowd estimates are expected to top 300,000.

Back in the summer of 2000, the Jacksonville area community leaders desired to create an autumn tradition for beachfront family entertainment. Thanks to Mr. Grissom and others, it appears they may achieve their desires.
